Since its establishment in 1981, Kangrim Heavy Industries Co. has rapidly grown into one of the leading suppliers on the domestic market of marine boilers and inert gas generators. This year, plans are afoot to produce more than 500 marine boilers for both domestic and overseas markets. Major foreign outlets are mostly in Europe and Japan, and further efforts are being made to expand markets in China and Europe.
The maker’s marine boilers come in cylindrical and two drum types. Due to their excellent quality, they are highly favored by foreign ship owners. CEcertified, they already are exported under ASME certifications such as “U,” “U2,” “S,” and “H.”
The manufacturer has also acquired manufacturer approvals from related foreign societies such as ABS, LR, and GL. Highly regarded for its advanced technology, the Korean government bestowed the approval for the maker’s production of equipment for nuclear power plants.
The maker is running 463,000 sq.m boiler factories in five cities on southern area of Korean peninsula, while operating a 65,000 sq.m offshore factory in Changzhou in Jiangsu Province, China.
