Water mist fire fighting system for machinery space

[Water mist fire fighting system for machinery space]
TANKTECH¡¯s Water-Fire Fighting System extinguishes or controls fires by cooling, oxygen displacement by water vapor and radiant heat attenuation. The exceptional cooling effect of water mist is a result of the division of water into very fine droplets, which increase the total surface area available to absorb heat and maximizes the evaporation rate of the water.

TANKTECH has provided over 700 vessels with X-MIST to the major shipyards and ship owners around the world. In low pressure water-mist fire fighting maker, TANKTECH is the leading provider in the world.

Main features

- This system is fire extinguishing system to protect machinery space of category and cargo pump room

- This system should be capable of manual release and continuously supplying water for at least 30min

- This system should be supplied by both main and emergency sources of power and should be provided with an automatic change over switch

- The capacity and design of system should be based on the complete protection of the space demanding the greatest volume of water

- The operation controls should be available at easily accessible position outside the space

Fish know it, just as some aquatic athletes and shipwreck survivors know it too, and that is the fact that there is a penalty in overlooking the inherent value of water, one of our most easily accessible commodities, while at sea. Tanktech Ltd. manufactures flammable fuel tanks and marine cargo tanks and has done so since the company inception. Tanktech has illustrated phenomenal industry involvement by also developing adjunct tank support products and systems. The most important support product where cargo or fuel tanks are flammable is the Tanktech developed water mist firefighting system. Tanktech was in part able to develop superiority in their water mist firefighting system due to their intimate knowledge of port and ship spaces and the practical issues associated with them as well as most viable resources to apply.

Tanktech¡¯s water mist firefighting system approaches extinguishment from multiple directions, literally and figuratively. Water mist is used in the extinguishing technology along with cooling, oxygen displacement and radiant heat attenuation (the ability of the system to diminish radiant heat). The function of the very fine mist is perhaps not readily understood or perhaps represented too simplistically thus far to be really looked at. Tanktech¡¯s water mist firefighting system ejects a very fine mist in order to increase the surface area over which heat is able to be absorbed by the mist. The water mist fire fighting system also uses the very fine mist as an additional selling point in that it is better for after care of a fire site if the mist readily evaporates, a phenomenon made possible by the use of very fine mist of the firefighting system.

There are multiple features to Tanktech¡¯s water mist firefighting system. The system is purpose built to protect the machinery space and cargo pump room of a vessel. The system can be released manually and supply water continuously for 30 minutes. In fact, the Tank tech system requires very little power, just 10HP vs 50HP. The system is able to gain power from both main power and emergency power sources to which the changeover switch is automatic. All of the operational controls are easily accessible as they are placed on the outside of the system. The system is cited as being extraordinarily easy to maintain and install yet if there is an ounce of difficulty, Tanktech offer to be on hand to assist with installation.

The water mist fire fighting system from Tanktech has multiple components. Components of the firefighting system include an alarm panel for flame and smoke detection. It also has a main and local control panel and a pump and a motor, as one would expect. Additionally, the fire fighting system has an installation height of 1.5 - 13.5 meters and an operating pressure of 7 ~ 11 BAR. The valves provide a flow rate of 14~ 18 liters per minute. There are 3 nozzle types available with the firefighting system. There are different nozzles available to clients for the specific for furbishing accommodation areas as an exception again to the three nozzles on offer.

The entire Tanktech water mist firefighting system is able to be project managed by Tanktech along with their other technologies. Their project management service includes in advance needs planning as well as or simply final product delivery. Tanktech also produce cerified OEM spares, tank cleaning systems and motor operation valves, hatch covers, pilot valves, valve actuators, ball valves additional to tanks and firefighting systems.

Customers in over 700 shipyards and marine vessels do not regret the purchase of the Tanktech water mist fire fighting system. Industry has also awarded the Tanktech water mist firefighting system with type approvals: LR, BV(+CE), DNV, NK,KR, ABS, GL. Tanktech have served happy clients with their comprehensive systems domestically and abroad in places such as greater Asia and Europe. In fact Tanktech has an office, agent or agreement with an organization in almost every continent.

Tanktech has a patented nozzle, a new piracy deterrent water cannon system that is illustrative of their industry involvement and sector leadership in providing feasible and practical solutions for ship yards and vessels. Their innovative involvement has evolved from the company¡¯s research and development slogan "There is no tomorrow of TankTech without research and development."
