A newly released small-sized PC, the ECOPC N1&E1 have been launched by Evo Technologies (www.ecopc.kr),
a leading provider of open source and green IT solutions, designed especially for contributing to the
reduction of carbon emissions through lowering power-consumption.
They enhance space utilization thanks to their small size and various mounting options and reduce energy
wastage by employing low-power CPU and energyefficient components. They are very thin, only about 4cm
thickness and features compact size with width 17.8cm and height 19.5cm. The models do not need a
cooling fan and boast of longer life-span than conventional general PCs.
What¡¯s more, the firm¡¯s self-developed ¡®ECOPC OS¡¯ can contribute not only to easing backup or recovery
of OS, but also convenient maintenance thanks to its capability of solving problems occurring in the OS,
just restarting the OS when the OS is experiencing the problem.
Given the current global issue of global warming and climate change mainly due to the overuse of fossil
fuels for power production, the company¡¯s two models are worthy of considering for solving the problems
as they can reliably meet the requirements for considerably lowering emissions of carbon dioxide.
A spokesperson of the company said that the products are expected to not only substitute existing desktop
PCs, but apply to
various industry and green IT areas such as public PCs and home servers, etc.
