With more than 22 years of experience in battery-making equipment, Moojin
Service Co., Ltd. (moojinsv.koreasme.com), headed by CEO Choi Eun-mo, was awarded the 50th
Trader of the Month Award for achieving the excellent export performance in the global market.
Moojin was founded in 1988 by Mr. Choi Eun-mo who was eager to provide reliable madein-
Korea battery-making equipment. When he started the business, the battery-making
equipment sector in Korea was still an infant industry and its technology and market were
significantly dominated by foreign manufacturers. However, Moojin has steadily reversed the
trend by continuing to improve performance of their machines through a study of the latest
technology and a ceaseless research on the automated equipment, while working very closely
with battery companies in Korea. Finally, Moojin succeeded in supplying their machines up to
nearly 90% in domestic market and became an established supplier to a large number of battery
manufacturers both inside and outside of Korea. They broadened foreign market to Japan, China,
Southeast Asia, East Europe, South America and Africa. As previously mentioned, Moojin¡¯s
domestic market share for battery making equipment reaches nearly 90%. They have completed
development and sales of 85% of the plate manufacturing equipments, and 100% of the primary
assembly line equipments and 100% of the finishing line equipments in their domestic market.
The Technology Moojin have has attained international level so Moojin are now competing with
global leaders in battery making equipment, such as TBS (the UK) and Sovema (Italy). In addition,
Moojin provide more advanced technology and more wide range of products than their competitors,
like Mac (USA), BM (Austria) and CEMT (China). Their rotary type COS (Cast-On-Strap) machine - 6
X 1 Type, the essential machine among the battery making machinery, which is used to weld lugs
and straps of a plate and the machine requires higher level of molding technology and automation
technology. Given the different Lug thickness of the positive and negative lead plates, some factors
like molten lead temperature control, mold temperature control, molten lead flow ability and
welding time parameter for Lug and Strap should be taken into consideration from the beginning of
designing COS. The COS (Cast-On-Strap) machine from Moojin offers higher productivity (five
batteries per minute), compared with other COS machines from different suppliers (for instance, one
COS from a firm in UK can produce four batteries per minute, another COS from a firm in USA can
produce three batteries per minute). Aside from machines with standard feature, Moojin provide
custom-tailored machines, and continuously keep widening their product range and upgrade
machine performance. Moojin have also strived to find new clients through the global agents in
battery making equipment industry from Europe, USA, China and Japan.
Moojin are accelerating development of even more advanced equipment that can produce
ISG (Idle Stop and Go) battery and industrial battery for communications and UPS uses.
