Capsule endoscopy is a way to record images of the digestive tract for use in medicine. The capsule is the size and shape of a pill and contains a tiny camera. After a patient swallows the capsule, it takes pictures of the inside of the gastrointestinal tract. The primary use of capsule endoscopy is to examine areas of the small intestine that cannot be seen by other types of endoscopy such as colonoscopy or EGD.

The significant difference with MiroCam and other products is its transmission technology. The MiroCam applies the proprietary HBC (Human Body Communication) technology, which takes advantage of the human body as a conductor to send data from the capsule to a receiving device.
Thanks to the innovative technology, MiroCam can take better quality images for a longer period of time. MiroCam captures and delivers exceptionally high quality images with the highest resolution of 320x320. In addition, a key clinical concern of capsule endoscopy is an incomplete examination (i.e. failure to image the entire small intestine due to a short operation time). MiroCam has the longest operation time of a minimum of 11 hours, resulting in a more thorough diagnostic view of the small intestine.
MiroCam’s precision lens system provides a 170 degree field of view, enabling exceptional visual coverage of the small intestine mucosa. It has smaller capsule size measuring 11x24mm. What’s more, coupled with its MiroView software’s easy-to-use interface and time-saving features, physicians can make a more complete diagnosis within a shorter time.
In particularly, the MiroViewTM2.0 software platform has been significantly enhanced through new features and design, including interoperability with PACS systems and network support. With an enhanced interface, the software enables a faster and more comfortable user experience. Also, second generation Quick View mode streamlines the review process, and innovative viewing modes assists in readily identifying GI landmarks.
The enhanced design and new features are applied to simplify the reporting process. Having received the CE Mark., this product’s safety and accuracy has been validated. Currently, the advanced capsule endoscope is being exported to more than 55 countries in Europe, Middle-East, Asia, and Americas through exclusive distribution networks.
