Notably, its automated external defibrillator (AED), HeartOn A10, is used for the fast delivery of defibrillation electric shock therapy to resuscitate victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The medical device is designed to analyze a patient’s ECG in order to detect ventricular fibrillation (VF) in the heart and automatically perform defibrillation on victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
Besides, it has various functions such as an automatic self-test function which is performed on a daily basis, support IrDA and SD card to communicate and store data to PC, 200 shock or 10 hours monitoring with LiMnO2 battery. Moreover, Mediana will launch a manual defibrillator (D500) which has a defibrillator function with patient monitor in the near future. Headquartered in Wonju Medical Industry Park in Gangwon-do, Korea, Mediana has an R&D center and cutting-edge manufacturing facilities located there. And its sales & marketing team works in its Seoul office.
Moreover, the company acquired MTC (Mediana Technologies Corporation) which was Omron Colin Medical Corporation in San Antonio, U.S.A. in 2010. Currently, Mediana offers several medical devices with the brand names “Mediana” and “Colin.”
The company has done business with many global companies, such as Covidien for Pulse Oximeter and multi parameter patient monitor with Omron healthcare, Schillar & Spacelabs for quite a long period of time.
