Lossless full-digital amplification
Most audio systems use a DAC to convert the digital audio signal to analog form to amplify audio signal into a high power signal by the analog amplifier. Pulsus uses a very different approach. Pulsus utilizes a full-digital amplifier to amplify the bit-perfect signal delivered by pure digital audio interfaces and to achieve higher fidelity sound with much more efficiency.
As the signal is amplified completely in the digital form, it is free of nonlinear distortion and analog noise. The heat dissipation is usually less than a fifth of analog amplifiers, which means that the audio system may produce a higher decibel level than an analog amplifier using the same power supply.
Jitter cleaning
Jitter is the imperfect timing of a digital audio stream. While the data stream is bit-perfect, the reproduction of the data stream into analog audio can suffer degradation by jitter. Every Pulsus¡¯ solution has an asynchronous sample rate converter. This gives consistency to the character of the sound and cleans up jitters in the source signal by re-clocking at the receiving end. The result is shown in its accurate timing and excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
Digital signal processing (DSP)
The DSP implements into every Pulsus¡¯ IC allows for the already good sound achieved by digital amplifier to be even better. It allows the correction of peaks and deeps that sound unnatural. Also, the advanced DSP technology allows the rich and
emotional sound, previously only been able to experience from a vacuum-tube amplifier or solid-state amplifier in every consumer audio systems.
