A newly unveiled hot item MR16 type LED lamp Master LEDs(7W, 10W) by Philips (www.philips.co.kr) are
expected to replace existing halogen lamps (35W, 50W).
The new models are fully compatible with conventional halogen lamps, thereby allowing users to substitute
the old one without installing additional drivers for LED. They also supply a function of controlling
dimming with a wide range.
Equipped with a high-output LED device and high-efficiency driver, they can save around 80% of energy
compared to existing halogen lamps.
They can be used for a tremendous amount of time, up to 40,000 hours, which is 13 times longer than
conventional halogen lamps that have a lifespan of only 3,000 hours.
Unlike halogen lamps that increase room temperature by utilizing the generated heat from itself, the master
LEDs employ a cooling system preventing generating heat, thereby allowing business owners, especially of
shops, hotels, restaurants, etc., to save considerably on maintenance and management costs as well as
cooling costs as well.
A representative of the firm pointed out that the newly released items can greatly contribute to the
cost-reductions for power, preventing emission of heat and they are expected to replace conventional
halogen lamps.
