E-Pia Tech, one of the leading wireless system companies in South Korea, has recently entered the U.S. market with its highly value-added manhole surveillance system that fully utilizes its independently developed wireless antenna technology, drawing strong attention in major U.S. cities including Washington. D.C.
Utilizing the patented wireless antenna technology, the company¡¯s manhole surveillance system effectively monitors the interior situation of manholes remotely. It can effectively prevent intruders from damaging the equipment within the manhole and causing terror.
In case of emergency accidents, it helps the people concerned to respond rapidly, utilizing the wirelessly received specific
real information of the surging temperature and inundation inside the manhole.
In line with the rising necessity for a new system to solve the matters over the increasing proportion of the underground power lines and the maintenance of underground facilities, the company developed the system in 2006 in cooperation with the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
Currently, the system is being widely applied at the power manholes of the KEPCO and Incheon Port Authority. Notably, during the last year¡¯s G20 Meetings, it has shown its outstanding capability as an anti-terrorist surveillance system.
Equipping with the functions of IT convergent equipment, the solution can meet the current global demand for building anti-terrorism systems, cities¡¯ comprehensive management, U-city, etc.
