Rope Gripper?? is an elevator safety device preventing accidents by gripping
the main rope of the system to stop the car if the elevator car moves excessively
fast and/or with the doors opened. Invented by Hollister-Whitney, a U.S.-based
elevator parts manufacturer who obtained the patent in more than 10 countries
worldwide, the safety system has been successfully localized by Gumyoung
General of Korea in 2002 and supplied to other Asian countries including Japan,
China and Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and many others countries.
Rope Gripper?? acquired the CSA safety certificate from Canada, the CE
certificate (EN-81) from Europe, and TX certificate from China, and has proved
its safety and reliability with more than 15 years of track record since it was
firstly applied on-site in 1992.
Under the commitments to safety and respect to human life, Gumyoung General launched elevator full set
brand GYG Elevator and has been expanding its market fast at home and abroad. After the completion of 2nd
factory, the company¡¯s production capability will be yearly 10,000 sets and aiming to be an elevator company
representing Korea.
