NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in the United States had to protect people and instruments from extreme temperatures in space. So it developed a new material called ¡°PCM (Phase-Change Material).¡± This material changes its property by changing from solid to liquid or vice versa while saving, releasing or absorbing heat. Simply, it
loses heat when it becomes solid, and takes in heat when a liquid state. This unique feature leads to a wide variety of applications besides the space project, and EST (Energy Solution Technology) knows better than anyone else.
EST¡¯s PCM solutions revolves around the ePCM cold top series and PCM range, which have many different products such as freezer trucks, cold storages, refrigerated trucks, PCM units, CRBs, and PCM modules. Founded in 2005, the PCM developer first embarked on introducing new energy technology. Its progressive and effortful researches have resulted in various PCM systems. Starting 2007, EST has been making environmentally friendly Ondol (Korean Heat System for Houses) systems based on PCMs.
EST¡¯s freezer truck has a PCM cold top that well takes advantage of how PCM works. Thus, the top made of PCM panels
can save up to 68% of fuel cost. In addition, maintenance costs will dramatically decrease as PCM can effectively keep cold
without any electricity, which means no noise. Refrigerated trucks and Hybrid Types share the same merits. CRB (Cold Roll
Box) has two different types. They can be mounted on conventional cargo trucks in the same way cold tops do. It is cost
effective with over 50% and can be used for small size cold storage. There are also PCM modules and PCM vests.
