TEMPFEEL Technologies Inc. has successfully developed its own TEMPFEEL Smart Material following years of R&D endeavors. SMART (Sensory Management against Rapid Temperature Change) technology is a kind of thermal balancing technology. It has been developed on the basis of space research in order to protect astronauts from extreme temperature variation. It uses certain materials that absorb heat through physical change processes and discharge the stored heat when the temperature drops.
The smart material applied for the technology is able to absorb and release thermal energy many times more than water. The material can be applied to spacesuits, thermal management of aviation electronic systems and energysaving industries of buildings.
TEMPFEEL Smart Material freezes at a normal room temperature. It responds to body temperature and gets rid of excessive heat, cooling down the body. After heat absorption, the melted smart material reverts to the original solid state through a heat dissipation process. Since TEMPFEEL Smart Material originates from natural material, it has no harmful effect on skins when it leaks. It also has semi-permanent life, being used repeatedly for a long time.
Recently released by TEMPFEEL Technologies Inc., the TEMPFEEL Smart Cool Cushion uses the smart material, and it has excellent thermal absorbing capability, stable thermal cycle and semi-permanent life. The product does not respond to a normal room temperature, but intelligently responds to a certain temperature such as body temperature, starting to absorb the excessive heat.
Since it has been designed to freeze at a normal room temperature unlike water that freezes below 0°C, TEMPFEEL users can always enjoy coolness conveniently. The cooling lasts for 30~90 minutes and people can experience the cooling sensation in their homes and offices.
TEMPFEEL Smart Cool Cushion is able to absorb much heat for a certain period of time. In case that it is not cool any more, leave for 20~30 minutes as it is. It dissipates the absorbed heat to the environment and returns to the freezing state, starting to absorb heat again. If quicker freezing is needed, it can be placed in a cool and shady area. If two pieces are used in turn, one can enjoy cool comfort for the entire day. It measures 31 cm x 32 cm and weighs 220g. It is also easy to carry by folding.
