Doul Agricultural Cooperative was established in 1996 to help local farmers to focus on high-value-added agricultural products by using differentiated brand names, advanced distribution channels and the advanced quality control management.
The cooperative has strived to increase the income of farm households and the organization¡¯s profits at the same time by being equipped with such facilities as a food production examination room on a 7, 800 pyeong (3§©) lot, expo and PR sales shop, cold chain system and curing facilities, screening truck with peeling garlic production system, kiwifruit selector, sweet potato cleaner, and so forth.
As part of these efforts to commercialize Namhae¡¯s agricultural specialty produce, it has made intensive R&D endeavors and launched a black garlic product, which has been attracting keen attention with the trend toward healthful, well-being foods among Korean consumers.
Daewoongsan Aged Black Garlic uses 100% garlic from Namhae which is famous for its clean and wonderful natural environment. It is of a very special quality, particularly because it is grown in the misty sea breezes and mists. The garlic undergoes ample ripening process in the garlic ripening room, self-developed by Doul Nongsan, which provides optimized temperature for each different ripening step. Unlike the baked or boiled garlic, aged black garlic retains the garlic¡¯s original ingredients but does not have the spicy taste and too some people unpleasant smell of garlic, so anyone can enjoy the garlic¡¯s various health benefits.
In addition, Daewoongsan Black Garlic Juice uses only the black garlic extract produced by 100% Namhae garlic, and contains more than 13% dried garlic content but no chemical addition or additives. The product is made by using garlic going through ripening for at least three months.
