Fresh and traditional Sing-Go pears, which are harvested from late September to Mid-October are exceptionally sweet and juicy pears, and they also have crunchy white flesh and thin brown skin. It looks narrow near its stalk and wider and rounded at the bottom and is grown and consumed in great quantities, thanks to the excellent cultivation conditions in Korea.
The Sing-Go pears have high watercontent and a crisp, grainy texture, very different from the buttery European varieties and tend to be quite large and fragrant. When carefully wrapped, they can last for several weeks or more in a cold, dry place.
They also have wonderful health benefits; in particular, they are low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium & high in dietary fiber, vitamin C and vitamin K. Korea¡¯s National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, NH NongHyup carries out education training and business for cooperative members to promote the rights and interests of the members. Also it is pursuing new technologies related to R & D on new crop breeds.
