Chang-Rak Farms is a leading agricultural produce exporter with one of the biggest cold storage houses in Korea. Equipped with 43 cold storage houses, the company can store the products under optimal conditions. Chang-Rak has recorded more than 20 percent growth
since 1999, when it first exported its agricultural produce. It posted more than $5 million in exports in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
The company mainly exports sweet persimmons, fresh strawberries, Kyoho grapes, musk melons, onions, Singo pears, cabbages, apples, mandarins to Hong Kong,
Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam as well as Canada and U.S.A.
One of its main export items, Korean sweet persimmon is the giant Fuyu persimmon, and their sweetness develops from a very early stage on the tree. Therefore, without any treatment for enhancing sweetness after picking, people can enjoy the fresh taste of it in a state of nature. With 13 to 17 Brix, it is normally harvested between mid October and February.
Additionally, strawberries which have soft flesh and sweet taste have 1.5 times more vitamin C than mandarin orange and 10
times more than apples. It can be enjoyed raw or used in making all kinds of desserts like sherbet, ice cream, shake, cake and jam.
