Automatic Optical Inspection System (AOI) is equipment specially designed
for inspection package substrate, a precise printed circuit board used for
semiconductor package assembly.
As PCB becomes finer and thinner as well as new processing methods such as
NMBI and SAVIA is applied to the PCB with the development of embedded PCB
and flexible PCB, more highly sophisticated technology is required for the AOI in
order to automatically inspect precise circuits on package substrates.
Gigavis’s AOI can inspect as precise as 7μm circuit of the substrate to detect
the defects, boasting one of the most precise PCB inspections in the world.
The line scanning camera method, Gigavis’ inspection logic, requires less inspection time especially for fine
patterned parts, compared with the conventional 1:1 bitmap comparison method. It moves and scans along with
