“Pororo the Little Penguin” is an educational TV animation targeting children aged 3
to 5. Made by Iconix Entertainment Co., Ltd., one of Korea’s leading animation
companies, the TV animation for preschoolers has already been sold in over 100
countries, proving its global popularity.
It features friendly animal characters, including a little penguin Pororo, a goodnatured
polar bear Poby, a smug, nosy red fox Eddy, a shy and timid little beaver Loopy,
a cute baby dinosaur Crong, a friendly female penguin Petty, and a happy humming
bird, Harry, whose personalities are equivalently reflecting those of kids, aged 3 to 5.
Pororo and his animal friends live on a white snow-covered island, unknown and
untouched by human civilization. The aim of the show is to help children learn how to
interact with other people through simple, repeated and indirect story-telling. Therefore,
dialogue is minimal and the visual impact is extremely important.
