Alloy-TiC produced by Daewha Alloytech Co. is a TiC-based metal matrix composite (Ferrotic/Ferro-TiC/Ferro-titanite equivalent material). In Alloy-TiC, steel alloy and TiC powders are well-mixed, pressed, sintered in a vacuum furnace, and HIP.
Although TiC is ultra-hard, even harder than tungsten-carbide, Alloy-TiC can be machined by a lathe, milling and grinding machine in the annealed state, and then can be hardened by heat treatment to hardness 68-72 Rc. It is used for materials requiring wear resistance such as guide rollers, rolling mills and all kinds of dies and knives.
¡®RESISTAR,¡¯ another flagship product of the company, is made by centrifugal cast. It features high wearresistance by minimizing the hardness in high temperature and increased productivities by reducing the chances of damage thanks to its tough properties. It is used mainly for mill rolls, guide rollers, pinch rollers and kock¡¯s rolls in the steel industry, and screws and paddles in the chemical industry.
Daewha Alloytech produces specific alloy steel which improves toughness and resistance against heat, impact, corrosion and wear by changing the alloy composition.
