Once used exclusively for architectural and industrial design, computer assisted design (CAD) has now found wide application in every field and industry. The technology¡¯s use in the textile and apparel industry has been spearheaded by Youngwoo CnI Inc., which developed the TexPro Design CAD System for textile and apparel design and production.
TexPro Design CAD allows for computer assisted design for textiles, fashion, textile goods, weaves and knits, reducing sample production costs.
The software package includes 500 production textiles and yarn data, a variety of melange, fancy yarn and other knits and patterns, cables, and knit designs of 4 to 40 gauge. TexPro allows the designer to create virtual textile products using a variety of materials, patterns, colors and prints. These designs can then be used as production data at the manufacturing level, enabling smooth communication between the designer and the manufacturer.
Founded in 1989, Youngwoo CnI Inc. was one of the major participants in the Korean government¡¯s textile and fashion CAD localization project. The company has established 15 branch offices in 13 countries, and has exported over 2,500 units to markets in the United States, Japan, UK, China and other nations around the world.
