One of the leaders in the Korean flexible coupling market, Joinflex Co. produces various flexible pipes (bellows) for exhaust systems as well as EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) tubes and braids.
Founded in 1995, the manufacturer annually exports about $2 million worth of products mainly to Europe and China. It expects this year’s exports to grow more than 10% in comparison with last year.
With ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 certifications, the maker is a tier-2 supplier to domestic automakers such as Hyundai and GM Daewoo. It also supplies products to Shanghai GM in China on an OEM basis. Efforts are under way to expand its OEM business with car makers in North America and Europe.
Made of stainless steel (SUS304, SUS321), the company’s flexible pipes range from 43.2 to 113mm in inner diameter and from 80 to 450mm in length. EGR tubes from the firm are made of the same materials as the flexible pipes and range in inner diameter from 13 to 50mm, with thicknesses ranging from 0.3-2.0mm.
The company’s factory in Korea has an annual output capacity of 1.75 million units of flexible pipes and 1.5 million of EGR tubes. Minimum orders are 500 units for flexible pipes and 30,000 units for EGR tubes on a yearly basis. Delivery takes up to 30 days after order confirmation.
