The scale of Korean exhibition&convention industries is increasingly growing covering various industrial areas. The steady growth is based not only on the consistent support from government, but also on the development of local industries in various sectors.
According to a report released by the Association of Korea Exhibition Industry(AKEI), South Korea will sooner or later win the title ¡°World¡¯s top-10 powerhouse¡± in the exhibition&convention industries.
Such rosy predictions are gaining credibility from the fact that KINTEX, the nation¡¯s largest exhibition&convention center,has recently expanded its venue area to 108,049m2 opening the 2nd exhibition center. It means Korea became a country that can host global level exhibitions & conventions.
Numerous exhibitions and conventions took placed in exhibition & convention centers across the nation have been contributed not only to the promotion of the export of Korean companies especially for small- and medium-sized manufacturers competitive both in design and technology to foreign markets, but also to the development of Korean economy.
These exhibitions and conventions play critical roles of developing domestic firms¡¯ global business opportunities facilitating their advance into the world market by holding various kinds of concurrent events including ¡®trade meetings¡¯. South Korea has become the world¡¯s eighth-largest trade giant in the global market last year recording more than US$1trillion in trade volume for the second consecutive year. Korea¡¯s specialized and global level exhibitions are certainly contributed to achievement of such remarkable performance.
