Hello, My name is Cho Sung-kap and I am the President of the Incheon IT Promotion Agency.
I would like to welcome all the business people who are contributing to the development of the knowledge and information industry in Incheon. Incheon has played a crucial role as a leader in many areas. Incheon introduced the machine civilizations, based on the steam engine, to Korea by constructing the Seoul-Incheon Railway, and also commenced the CDMA service, the second-generation digital mobile technology of Korea, for the first time in the world. In addition, Incheon Post Office is the nation¡¯s first post office, and the Freedom Park, the nation¡¯s first western style park, was also established in Incheon.

With its meaningful history, Incheon is now developing into the center of the new growth engine of the Korean peninsula, as new industries and convergence industries are burgeoning, especially in the Free Economic Zone of Incheon. As a professional knowledge information training institute, the IITPA is supporting Incheon in many areas, so that the city can develop into the mecca of Korea¡¯s ICT.

We are working hard to enhance the competitiveness of the industries related to S/W(Software), IT(Information Technology), CT(Culture Technology) and RT(Robotics Technology). In these efforts, the IITPA is pushing ahead with various projects to support IT companies, such as providing support for participation at overseas exhibitions, support for the business development of IT companies, support for the discovery of star companies and the selection of promising companies.

In addition, we strive to develop high-value technologies through the development of IT convergence technologies and robotics technologies. To develop the cultural content industry, which has recently become recognized as important, we are pushing ahead with many activities, such as support for content production, contests and e-sports competitions, and we also run the Cultural Content Industry Support Center.

Recently, the vitalization of employment has become the hottest issue in society with the chain reaction problems resulting from a bleak outlook for the world economy. As the organizer of the Jemulpo Smart Town project, which is one of the key projects of the Incheon government, the IITPA is determined to generate employment opportunities in Incheon by concentrating its strengths on the establishment of tech-based enterprises and fostering experts.

The current paradigm driving a rapidly changing IT society is convergence. The demand for products and services that have re-created their values through convergence is growing every day. The IITPA is determined to discover and foster core strategic industries in Incheon through research on policies for the effective development of the IT convergence industry, which is leading the times. We will make an effort to enhance the competitiveness of the knowledge information industry in Incheon by helping realize the convergence of IT, CT and RT.
