Korean Big Electronics Show As technology develops throughout the world, Korean electronic products have progressed from simple products, like
vacuum tube radios, to advanced products, like mobile phones, IPTVs and semiconductors. The significant developments in
technology and increased demand for Korean electronic products worldwide have resulted in a rapid increase in the
production of electronic products by Korean manufacturers. Korean electronics are now ranked 4th in global electronics
production. KES has always been advancing throughout its 51 year history in the Korean electronic industry and making
inroads into international markets.
Since 2008, KES has founded a complete product portfolio by merging two areas ¡°semiconductor¡± and ¡°display.¡± Its portfolio enables buyers to see a wide array of ¡°up and/or down stream¡± supply chain at one glance.
The 40th Korea Electronics Show 2009 was held at KINTEX in Ilsan under the slogan, ¡°You¡¯ll be the first witness to the future!¡± It started with the opening
ceremony titled ¡®Wearable IT Fashion Show¡¯ where models wore a wide range of wearable IT products.
In addition, KES 2009 showcased information appliances, information & communication, integration, semiconductors, and display panels as well as collision avoidance systems, 3D display, green Internet cafe, 3D endoscopy, digital broadcasting equipment, and many other products that caught the attention of the
visitors and buyers alike. There was much to see at the show, and people could get a glimpse of the future trends of the electronics market.
Despite the economic downturn, many multinational companies like Nissan Motor, Murata, Epson, 3M, HP, and a number of high-tech companies in the areas of 3D, environment, game, and broadcasting system, as well as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, have participated in the show, showing their interest in R&D and investment for the future. Furthermore, more than 3,000 buyers from 23 countries including India, Russia, China and South America have visited the
show, and they were provided with a variety of business programs.
Of special note, the upcoming 41st Korea Electronics Show 2010 will be staged October 12 to 15 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Korea under the theme, ¡°IT¡¯s my life!¡±, attracting over 1,000 companies from 30 different countries, with roughly 70,000 visitors expected.
The show will be held in an exhibition area covering 53,541 square meters; the participants will present their major products such as cell phones, multimedia, semiconductors, displays, etc. Also different kinds of convergence solutions will be presented, such as digital kits and digital hospital equipment, wearable computing, and Green IT. Presentations of convergence solutions will give CEOs insights into future trends in advanced technology and
the global markets.
Thanks to its global networks of IT shows among Asian countries, including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, the show will offer buyers from North America, Europe and Middle East more optimal business solutions.
