Korea s Smart Digital Gadgets to Be Presented at CeBIT 2010

CeBIT 2010 Seizing the opportunity to showcase their innovative new products, a host of companies in the fields of IT and Telecommunications solutions participate in CeBIT Hanover, held in March in Germany. The fair is one of the world¡¯s largest and most significant shows attracting the keen attention of the world¡¯s major IT and Telecommunications industry players.
South Korean companies in these fields have regularly attended this show. This year, Korea¡¯s promising manufacturers and suppliers of IT and digital items are scheduled to join the CeBIT 2010, slated to be held from March 2 through 6.
Of special note, this year¡¯s Korean Pavilion will be co-organized by various IT-related agencies, including IITPA (Incheon Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency).
Guided by the IITPA, 11 companies Gaon-InT (FM Transmitter Supporting iPod/iPhone), DA Tech (Digital Breathalyzer), Myeongstar (AD board for LCD), UBMATE & CNAPS Consortium (Wireless Hands-free & FM Transmitters), Shingi Acoustics (Speaker & Bone Conduction Vibrator), Elivision (46-inch Digital Information Display), GD Tech (Bluetooth Compatible Bone Conduction Headset), Pavonine Korea (Integrated 3D Video Producing System Combining Dual Camera mount and 3D Viewfinder) and Pamsh (Bone-Conduction Headset) will unveil their flagship products at the upcoming show.
IITPA Takes the Lead in Transforming Incheon into an IT Hub
The Incheon Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency (IITPA) was founded in 2002 with a goal of reinforcing the competitiveness of local IT enterprises by effectively supporting and nurturing IT businesses operating in Incheon.
Since then, the agency has played a key role in fostering the IT industry in Incheon through various activities that are intended to strengthen the competitive edge of local IT enterprises by creating a business-friendly environment and preparing a high-tech IT infrastructure.
IITPA is involved in various projects intended to serve its purpose of establishment.
Most importantly, IITPA has carried out a host of national IT projects, such as locally specialized software production support and nurturing projects, URC-based u-City service robot development (led by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy), location of information-based mobile service system development, u-Guide test service, u-Tourpia (tourist guide service), and realistic 3D image technology development.
As it has been designated as a key player of the Business to Build Robot Land by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy in 2008, and subsequently, the Incheon Intelligent Robot Research Center was opened in 2009, so IITPA is also focusing on advancing the robot industry in the Incheon area. As a part of those endeavors, IITPA carries out various projects in regard to the development of robot industry. First of all, IITPA plans to launch ¡®Business to Build Robot Land,¡¯ the world¡¯s first robot theme park. About 2.8 million people are expected to visit Robot Land every year when the theme park opens in 2010. IITPA also holds nation¡¯s largest robot contest and robot camp to nurture the robot industry. Additionally, it successfully hosted FIRA 2009, an intentional robot football competition, in Incheon.
In addition, IITPA is promoting local IT business by organizing the Incheon Pavilion at major international IT fairs such as CES, CeBIT, Communic Asia and GITEX, as well as by dispatching representatives to overseas IT fairs to help IT companies to explore new overseas markets.
Furthermore, IITPA carries out various studies in regard to the development of specialized IT industry of Incheon in the field of digital contents, robot industry and logistics business, and it holds monthly regular forums by inviting IT industry leaders. It also offers software technology education for unprivileged teenagers.
