Sung Shin RST has positioned itself as a professional manufacturer of bogie assemblies of locomotives and passenger
coach as well as completed vehicles since its establishment in 1990, leading the technological trends in this field in South Korea.

Sung Shin RST has developed sand and gravel suction dredges that are being produced as a response to the mechanization of railway maintenance, the first in South Korea. A new model construction train that consists of railway trains equipped with various optical cameras, sensors and database systems for all defects in track gauge.
Passenger train set consists of 1st class, 2nd class, restaurant car, couchette car, and power car. The general specifications of passenger train sets from the company are: Operating speed of 120Km/h; overall length (car body- shell) of 22,800mm; three ranges of track gauges from meter gauge(1000mm) to broad gauge(1676mm); tare weight of approximately 40 tons; Length of 15,885 mm (between truck pivot centers); car body’s width of 2,825mm; car body’s height of 4,215mm; wheel base of 2,300mm; wheel diameter of Ø 860mm; cooling capacity of 40,000 Kcal/h; power supply of 320 KW(standby); and 50hz.

Notably, newly emerging overseas markets of Africa and the Middle East, all of which offer business opportunities needing many units of railroad vehicles including passenger coach, diesel locomotives, freight wagon, etc., are also starting at attract the keen attention of the company.
“We are also currently making several international bids to broaden our global presence by ceaselessly releasing a technology-integrated, high-efficient, and value-added passenger coaches and locomotives,” the President confidently added.
