As a leading domestic shipbuilder, STX METAL, which was a spin-off from Ssangyong Heavy Industries in 2001, has succeeded in releasing its flagship shipbuilding component, “crankshaft”, making use of its accumulated technology expertise over the past 36 years.
Installed inside the crankcase are 4-stroke crankshafts. With the vertically reciprocating motion of pistons to convert rotary motion, they deliver power to the external rotating part. Their movements in the process of suction, compression and exhaust strokes transmit power to the piston.
With ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, the company has such foreign approvals as DNV, NK, LR and GL. Amid the fierce competition in the shipbuilding industry, the company is ceaselessly striving to improve the technological capabilities of its products, including crankshafts.
