Since 1997, we have evolved into a leader in the SPD industry. We have grown from a small regional operation into a global manufacturer. We manufacture a complete line of SPD products from: low voltage, medium voltage, high voltage, data/communications, din rail, commercial, and residential applications. All of our products are designed, manufactured, and tested to comply to IEEE standards: C62.41.1-2002, C62.41.2-2002, and C62.45-2002.
Surge Protection Devices (SPD’s)
All businesses and homes rely on electronic devices that are necessary to carry out day-to-day activities. When an electrical surge occurs, voltage that exceeds accepted peak voltage levels can pass through the distribution or communication lines into electronic equipment that is sensitive to overvoltage.
Without proper protection your electronic equipment is susceptible to damage or failure from each voltage surge. Every SPD can reduce the surge voltage level that passes through to your electronic devices, this voltage is known as Let-Through-Voltage, listed on most SPD’s as VPR.
While any SPD can reduce the Let-Through-Voltage that passes into your equipment, some have a VPR rating that is too high to prevent damage, which is almost like having no protection at all. Our patented Gate Control Arrestor (GCA) technology in our SPD’s offers the lowest Let-Through-Voltage possible and offers maximum protection to your voltage sensitive equipment. We offer a complete range of SPD’s to protect your electrical equipment; in addition, our SPD’s are the best choice for all businesses and homes.
Surgelab Korea, Inc. has developed three basic model levels for our SPD’s: the Normal Surge Protective Device (NSPD), the Professional Surge Protective Device (PSPD), and the Super Surge Protective Device (SSPD). With each model level of SPD that we manufacture the Let-Through-Voltage is lowered.
Our NSPD offers just the basic MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) protection that most SPD’s on the market offer, and is a parallel device. Our PSPD offers the same MOV protection, but it also features our patented Gate Control Arrestor (GCA) technology that greatly reduces the Let-Through-Voltage, and is a parallel device. Our PSPD offers a Let-Through-Voltage that is 1/3 lower than other AC SPD’s that are currently in the market.
The SSPD is also made by using our GCA component, and it offers the lowest Let-Through-Voltage in the current market, a Let-Through Voltage of under 50V. SurgeLab Korea, Inc. also offers several integrated cost-effective whole-house SPD’s that offer protection for Ac, Telco/Data, and Cable TV.
