Hagisonic Co., Ltd., an ultrasonic sensor manufacturer in Korea for advanced sensors and systems, established in 2000 as an in-house venture of Korea Research Institute of Science and Standard in Daedeok Science town, Daejeon, Korea.
Since its establishment, the company has received global recognition for the technological competence and performance of its products, winning international patents, certifications, and a number of awards on ultrasonic transducers, ultrasonic sensors, localization sensors, ultrasonic diagnostic devices, energy-saving modules, power savers, and educational sensor kits, etc.
Energy-saving modules (controllers), one of the company’s newly launched products, are applicable mainly to LED lighting (OEM built-in type), in addition to underground parking lot lighting control (OEM standalone), electricity control of an electric fan, air-conditioner and other home appliances (Standard stand-alone), stand-by power control of computer monitor and TV (Standard stand-alone), and security/surveillance applications such as intruder detectors at corridors, stairways, offices, children’s rooms, etc.
Combining ultrasonic with PIR sensor, the energysaving modules realizes automatic sensing/lighting control solving the problems of existing sensor-type lighting systems.
The module can detect both human beings and objects, and prevent sudden blackouts by continuously sensing sitting persons in various areas such as lobbies, offices and/or restrooms in order not to cause any embarrassment for them by the sudden blackouts.
As compact as 70mm of outer diameter, the module allows easy installation both on wall and ceiling. It also does not require additional power in operation as it uses the power of the LED lighting system in which the module is installed.
Besides energy-saving modules, the company has now produced ultrasonic sensors for robots, localization sensors for automatic guided vehicle(AGV) and indoor navigation, ultrasonic transducers for nondestructive testing and bone mineral densitometer, and many other sensor-related appliances.
For about 11 years, a number of world-leading companies including Nippon Steel, Hyundai Motor, Posco, LG Chemicals and Dongkuk Steel have been using Hagisonics nondestructive testing sensors for nuclear, steel, shipbuilding, and automobile industries.
In addition, the company’s localization sensors and obstacle-avoiding ultrasonic sensor for mobile robot and automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) are being supplied to about 90% of service robots available in the Korean market as well as exporting to 240 companies in 25 countries including Toshiba, Panasonic and Phillips.
Hagisonic Co., Ltd. also has the first-mover’s advantages in the world robot sensor market with the company’s contracts with four overseas branches, and 19 dealerships worldwide.
