Established in 2000, Optowell Co. (www.comalgum.com) has developed core technology in VCSEL/GaAs PD/RCLED/UHB LED manufacturing.
Applying low level laser therapy (LLLT) which is not harmful to the human body, Optowell has lately released a rhinitis
treatment device called “Comalgum.” The medical device is able to treat problems in the nasal cavity that is the root cause
of rhinitis and intensified problems inside the nasal cavity in the meantime because it emits over two wavelengths of laser
from the laser detector. Comalgum makes it easier to breathe by opening the breathing cavity in the nasal area.
The highly effective laser equipment works for increasing cell division, cell activation, immune cell and anti-inflammatory
effects. And, Comalgum uses up-todate VCSELs (vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers), which are suitable for portable
laser curers for lighter weight, accuracy and lower power consumption compared with other laser chips. Therefore,
Comalgum has a portable and handy design. Since it weighs just one-fifth that of other products, it is easily portable and
can thus be used during daily life.
As the only VCSEL manufacturer in Korea, Optowell provides Wellay skin laser and Wellay hair laser by adapting
biotechnology to its specialized laser technology.
The company adopted cutting-edge, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) irradiating multi-wavelengths. WELLAYskin laser irradiates 670~910nm wavelengths. Unlike other ordinary lasers, these multi-wavelength lasers are
useful for fine wrinkle treatment of the skin and the resilience improvement. WELLAY hair laser is also installed with multi-
wavelength lasers from 670~830nm, effective for hair loss treatments.
