[An Innovative Bone-Conduction Headset Employing Patented Technology]
Pamsh Co.(www.pamsh.com) will be exhibiting its patent-winning bone-conduction headset PS-200 at CeBit 2010.
Bone conduction is able to transmit the vibration of the bone to auditory cochlea as a sound not passing the eardrum, so a headset employing bone-conduction technology drastically reduces stress on the ear and prevents damage to the eardrum. About 10% of younger people who suffer from noise-induced hearing loss and have damaged eardrums can also hear sounds clearly with bone conduction headset.
As the ear is not blocked, the user of the headset can hear surrounding sounds, and avoid possible risk during outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, skiing and jogging. It also does not cause fatigue and reduction of hearing ability even with lengthy usage as the sound is directly transmitted to the auditory organ, not passing the eardrum.
The company¡¯s bone-conduction headphone PS-200 is differentiated from other products in the market by employing a unique built-in vibrator technology. The domestically patented technology outstandingly improves playing back of original sound without distortion, which is hard to realize for conventional bone-conduction headphones employing external type vibrator.
The built-in vibrator technology is the first of its kind in the world employed with bone-conduction headsets. International applications by the company for patents are currently pending in several major countries.
The amplifier for 2.6 watt stereo output supports automatic transfer from MP3 listening to phone conversation, so the user can receive a call while listening to MP3 music. When the call is hung up, the MP3 file automatically plays back again. This is possible thanks to the hands-free IC (model name: SDT03DK) developed independently by the company and installed in the product.
The noise-reduction feature of the product also effectively eliminates unwanted sounds, such as the noise of wind from the outside.
Resistant to breakage due to its polyethylene carbon body, PS-200 fits well to most head-shapes of the users thanks to its three level rotating joints. User can electrically charge the amplifier using USB, and the headset can be continuously used for 10 hours once charged.
¡°The external-type vibrator installed in conventional bone conduction headsets is weak in playing back the original sound uniformly as the users¡¯ head sizes and vibration pressures thereof for the heads are different to each other.¡± said Yoseb Ahn, a technology officer of the company. ¡°In addition to the built-in vibrator, PS-200 from Pamsh realizes true innovation in its speaker structure with Ferrite Core, a magnetic substance, to improve problems from conventional products such as poor low-pitched sound, sound leakage, narrow frequency bandwidth and noise increase.¡±
In 2009, PS-200 won ¡®VIP ASIA Product of the Year¡¯ award from Aving, a global news network.
