WIZnet has grown into one of the leading solution providers in Korea of fabless semiconductors providing an Internet processor, iMCU?, which is specialized by TOE (TCP/IP Offload Engine) technology based on a uniquely patented fully hardwired TCP/IP.
A spokesperson of the company responded as follows after being asked about the exact coverage of its flagship TCP/IP technology: ¡°Our hardwired TCP/IP technology provides ease of adding Ethernet connectivity to embedded products, enhanced MCU performance by using TCP Offload engine and low power embedded networking solution (wired and wireless).¡±
¡°WIZnet¡¯s Internet MCU which is a single chip microcontroller with hardware TCP/IP and 10/100 Ethernet MAC/PHY is optimally designed to ensure high network performance &stability, simple and easy implementation and cost-effective networking solution,¡± the spokesperson added.
Notably, the venture has recently released iMCU W7100A, which is the newest single chip microcontroller with TCP/IP and 10/100 fast Ethernet MAC/PHY. For the tiny embedded device, 64QFN package type is especially supported.
The iMCU W7100A is software that can be fully compatible with industrial standard 8051 - but the pipelined architecture provides up to five times faster speed than a standard 8051.
Additionally, it incorporates two data pointers for fast memory block processing, internal 2K Byte boot ROM, internal 64K bytes embedded program FLASH memory, internal 256 bytes embedded data FLASH memory, internal 64K bytes SRAM, external 11.0592 MHz operation frequency for internal PLL logic and internal 32K Bytes memory for TCP/IP data communication.
It comes with three timers/counters, full duplex UART, programmable watchdog timer, DoCD & trade compatible debugger and19 IO ports.
What¡¯s more, it features an interrupt controller (2 priority levels / 4 external interrupt sources /1 watchdong interrupt) and fully hardwired TCP/IP core as well as 8 independent hardware sockets and hybrid software stacks, internal 32K Bytes memory for TCP/IP data communication.
