Zephyr Logic’s LED driver IC provides users with a wide array of solutions for them to easily design LED backlight units. The product that supplies 16 channels can control 2% degree of precision between channels. With the built-in function sensoring an optimal voltage, it thus increases the efficiency of its operation. It also supplies various protection circuits including short circuit protection.

Zephyr Logic’s flagship LED Controller ZL1010 is a high performance, high efficiency device for white light emitting diodes (LEDs). It is designed for large sized LCD panels that employ LEDs as the light source. The ZL1010 can control up to 16 high voltage LED strings. Each string current is accurately matched and controlled ensuring even brightness for all LEDs.
The ZL1010 monitors the lowest cathode voltage of the LED strings and generates a feedback signal to an external power supply for a convenient and efficient output control. It offers two dimming control modes to enable a wide variety of applications.
All 16 strings of LED current dimming can be precisely controlled by applying a PWM signal to the DPWM input pin or analog dimming voltage to the ADIM pin. DPWM signal can also be used as an automatic shutdown.
It also offers both open and short LED fault detection circuitry and logic outputs via Fault_OVP and Fault_SVP pins for increased system reliability. Currents up to 300mA for each LED string are supported. Currently, it is actively applied at LED Backlight applications for LCD TV/Monitor, LED general lighting.
