Korea¡¯s Globally Competitive Exhibitions Provide Unrivaled Tools for Doing Business and Sealing Deals
As of 2010, South Korea ranked the world¡¯s seventh-largest trader by achieving trade volume worth nearly
$1trillion, exporting and importing goods equivalent to worth $445 billion and $424.7 billion, respectively.
In recent years, the Korean exhibition industry has also recorded remarkable growth in line with these
unprecedented performances.
More than 10 exhibition centers located all over the country, including those in Seoul, Busan, Daegu,
Gwangju, and Daejeon, etc, are annually hosting hundreds of prestigious exhibitions, of which more than 60
international level exhibitions are actively attracting worldwide enterprises interested in exhibitions for
promoting their globally competitive products including the newly produced items and existing competitive
products.
Following the special section introducing major Korean exhibition centers in our first edition this year,
this month¡¯s Korea Buyers Guide covers some major Korean exhibitions especially regarding information &
technology (IT), electronics, and the electrical industry, which will be take place this year, thereby
helping overseas buyers to effectively accomplish their important business goals.


i-SEDEX to host record number of globally competitive semiconductor enterprises


The upcoming i-SEDEX, the new name of SEDEX Korea and 13th International Exhibition on semiconductors,
will take place at KINTEX, South Korea¡¯s largest exhibition center from October 11-14 this year, achieving
12 editions of outstanding records since its first debut in the nation.
Riding on the unprecedented success of SEDEX Korea 2010, this year¡¯s i- SEDEX will be held again at KINTEX
in Ilsan, one of main exhibition cities in the nation, which hosts numerous international exhibitions
annually.
Approaching its jubilee anniversary, i-SEDEX is expected to continue to work hand in hand with the
semiconductor industry to provide innovative solutions for semiconductor products; and also serve as the
growth engine for various related industries.
Utilizing the image of South Korea as a global leader in the semiconductor area, the promising exhibition
will also be an excellent venue for companies to effectively prepare themselves for this very challenging
field.
i-SEDEX is not only Asia¡¯s ideal platform for industry players to showcase their world competitive and
prominent products, but also the perfect channel for European, American, Japanese, and Korean companies to
promote their cutting edge items to the emerging world¡¯s promising markets, such as China, Brazil, etc.
In the coming edition, the organizer plans to introduce even more innovative elements into the show.
In 2010, the global economy was not fully recovered from the international financial crisis, and global
enterprises are still aggressively seeking ways to strengthen their existing strong industrial presence
through global hot products like thesemiconductor sector, etc.
More than 155 renowned international exhibitors from 22 countries/regions with 600 booths will be showcasing
a wide range of products ranging from devices to software. They have full confidence in i-SEDEX 2011 and
have already reserved their booths for the new edition in order to seize new business opportunities,
highlighting the importance and influence of the exhibition, boosting the mood for the development of
semiconductor industry in the next chapter.
Among the scheduled exhibitors to participate in the exhibition, roughly one hundred of the nation¡¯s
promising companies including GAHA are ready to unveil their world competitive and advanced products.
Exhibit category is largely comprised of device, equipment manufacturers, factory facilities, materials,

The 16th Seoul International Electric Fair 2011 To Be Held Concurrently with Five Major Related Industry Exhibitions


The upcoming 16th Seoul International Electric Fair 2011, is scheduled to be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from
September 28~October 1, 2011.
Under the title of ¡°The 2011 Korea Industry Fair¡± (KIF2011), five main related exhibitions, including the
Korea MachineryFair 2011(KOMAF2011) will be held concurrently, providing not only a variety of attractions,
but good opportunities to catch up with the latest trends in South Korea¡¯s capital goods industry.
It is further noteworthy that the Korea Nuclear Power Industry Exhibition will also be staged in a separate
a space of the exhibition venue, offering visitors a great opportunity to see what the South Korea electric
industry is showcasing.
More than 200 companies including South Korea¡¯s major global companies in the field, such as LS Industrial
Systems, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyosung, etc. will be displaying their globally competitive products,
unveiling the technological trends of the smart-grid related products, which is one of the hosting country¡¯
s globally leading items, and indicating one of the important future directions of the electric industry.
The exhibition¡¯s exhibit categories are comprised of Power Generation, Motors & Generators, Transmission &
Distribution Equipment, Switchgears & Control Gears, IT Implementation of Electrical Equipment, etc.
Strongly supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, KINTEX, etc., the exhibition along with
concurrently scheduled related exhibitions is expected to greatly contribute to improving the quality of
domestic products and enhancing the international competitiveness of the domestic capital goods industry,
etc.
