Food Fair to Reflect Growing Wellness Trends

BOFAS 2010
BOFAS 2010 (Busan Int’l Food Exhibition 2010), which is scheduled for June 17 through 20 at BEXCO in Busan, will be an opportunity for food producers and consumers to gain information on high-quality food materials.
As one of the significant food expos in Busan, one of the biggest cities in South Korea in terms of scale and contents, the food show is expected to attract about 200 exhibitors and a number of professional and general visitors at home and abroad.
Carefully selected agricultural and marine and stock farm products across the nation will be displayed, along with diverse organic produce and health functional foods, in line with the global ‘well-being’ trend.
Furthermore, buyers and general visitors will have a chance to meet the broad range of food manufacturing, processing and cooking equipment for confectionery, bakery, meat, seafood, noodles, beverages, dairy products, farm products, prepared food etc.
Jointly organized by Busan Metropolitan City, Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Busan Regional Food & Drug Administration, Busan Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, the 17h Busan international Food Exhibition will be held together with three specialized exhibitions, including Busan Food Exhibition, Busan Food Machinery & Packing Exhibition and Busan Food Franchise Exhibition. The organizers intend to create various synergy effects and big business opportunities.
Moreover, in consideration of the business-oriented nature of the expo, the food show organizers are making all-out efforts to attract buyers from around the world.
Particularly, partnership with Germany’s Merebo Messe Marketing and China’s Quingdao Chengming Fair allows the show to attract a lot of overseas buyers and exhibitors, including many of Japanese companies.
Organizers plan to designate June 17 and 18 as business day on which only trade visitors can attend the show and general visitors can attend the show for the rest two days. Organizers expect the efforts to help to enhance the show’s business nature, leading to increased purchasing consultations and contracts between buyers and exhibitors.
